  • Please fill out the information below to request an educational presentation, activity, or tour (s) of the City of Greensboro Water Resources Facilities. Thank you for your interest in our education programs and City tours!

     

    Anyone who submits a form should be aware that in accordance with the North Carolina Public Records law, found in North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 132, their e-mail address is considered public record.

  • **Please note: 2 weeks advance notice is required for program scheduling. We are only able to provide programming and/or attend events within Greensboro or at schools located in Guilford County.**

      Please note: Spring is a very popular time of year to learn about water education. Your preferred date/time may not be available, please be as flexible as possible during this time of year or schedule well in advance.

      Programs may be:

      • Scheduled up to 6 months in advance, but no less than 2 weeks prior.
      • Scheduled outside of regular business hours, but not on a City holiday.

      A 2-week notice is required for scheduling. If your preferred date is available, we will reach out with details, and you will receive a confirmation receipt. If not, we will work with you to find a convenient alternative time and date.

      **At this time, we are only offering tours for 3rd grade and up.**

    • Tour Requirements - All participants must wear long pants (covering the ankles) and closed-toe, closed-heel athletic-style shoes (covering the top of the foot). Due to safety policies, all participants must be specific ages to tour our facilities:

      • 3rd grade/8 years or older - Townsend and Mitchell Water Treatment Plants

      • 6th grade/11 years or older - TZ Osborne Water Reclamation Facility

      Transportation/Parking - Transportation is not provided by the City of Greensboro. Due to limited parking at all facilities, carpooling is strongly encouraged.

      Tour Hours & Availability - A 2-week notice is required for scheduling. Tours are not available on City Holidays.

      Townsend Water Treatment Plant: **Please Note: The Townsend Water Treament Plant is currently under construction and tours are currently suspended.**

      Mitchell Water Treatment Plant: Available Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm 

      **Please note that the Mitchell Water Treatment Plan will be under construction soon, and scheduling tours will be unavailable, beginning April 1, 2026.**

      TZ Obsorne Water Reclamation Facility: Available Monday - Friday, 10 am - 3 pm

    • Please fill out the appropriate photo release form if you are participating in a Water Resources event. Your individual Photo Release Waiver (for those over 18) can be completed on this form, and/or multiple Photo Release Waivers can be downloaded, filled and uploaded for other members of your group or organization. 

    • Select the appropriate form(s) for your party, download and fill as many of the photo release waiver form PDF as needed for your group or organization. Then proceed to the Upload section below.

      If submitting multiple waivers, please consolidate them into one PDF if possible.
