    After 3pm, you may schedule a hydrant mounted meter the next business day.

    Please allow 24-hrs. for processing. You will be contacted when the meter is ready for pickup.

    Before you complete the Hydrant Mounted Meter Application, you must agree to the following terms below, for a hydrant mounted water meter to be used solely on the Greensboro Water Resources Department water system.

  • I agree to pay the requisite meter deposit based on the required meter size established by the Greensboro City Council. Refer to pricing table above.*
  • I understand that I am responsible for the meter once it is installed on the hydrant. In addition, I am responsible for any damage to the meter, fittings, and hydrant. If the meter is lost or stolen, our company is liable for the meter's cost and the fittings.*
  • I understand that hoses are not allowed to run across the street unless it’s protected by a proper cover, that I provide. If proper covers cannot be provided, I must choose another hydrant*
  • I understand that I am responsible for calling the meter shop at 336-373-2071 to provide the meter readings and to schedule the quarterly inspections. I understand that my company will be billed a service charge of $30 per month, plus the cost of the water used based on the non-residential rate in effect. The service charge and non-residential rate are subject to change and will be based upon the rate in effect each month the meter is used. *
  • I understand that it is the company's responsibility to return the meter to the Meter Shop when the meter's use is no longer required. The Meter Shop can be contacted at (336)373-2071 or (336)336-373-2055*
  • I understand after the meter has been removed and returned to the meter shop, the final bill will be determined. The deposit will be applied to the final amount owed. The company will be refunded or invoiced for the difference based on the final bill's total amount.*
  • I understand if the service address should change during the rental time, the customer must notify the Meter Shop within 24 hours to provide a new address before relocating the meter.*
  • I understand if a Truck Mounted Meter must be moved to another Truck, I must call the Meter Shop and deliver the new truck and installed meter to the Meter Shop for installation approval.*
  • I understand failure to comply with the regulations and procedures of this policy will result in immediate suspension of hydrant meter privileges, forfeiture of the hydrant meter rental fee, and an assessment of civil penalties.*
